WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the Item level Upgrade has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item upgrader mod, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with an button, which will display an image of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level upgrade level. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade item coupon as well as the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and an issue.

In Season 3, a number of new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This applies even if those items are from another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a few choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

For instance, when an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them wisely. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
